For You Honey...

I like this clip art and seems like it fits what's in my heart. I married my best friend who is always giving and loving. He is always there to praise me when I need it. He is there to criticize me when I am wrong and for me to take a step to improve myself.

That's my dearest hubby!

HApPy 49th WeDDiNg AnNiVErSaRY!

Today is the 49th wedding anniversary of my beloved Tatay and Nanay!

I know how tough life had been having to race all of us in poverty. It was really hard, really hard! And now, what we need to see in your face is a smile, the smile that you never showed while you were still raising us all. Now is the time for you both to just watch us all doing our share of life. Don't ever worry about us. We are strong and can stand on our own. Just be happy and enjoy the remaining years of your life! HaPPy AnNIvErSArY!

My Sister's Birthday Today!

TO MY DEAREST SISTER CRISTINA!

She is the youngest of ten siblings and the family's pride. She was on top of her class during her kindergarten, elementary, high school and on her LLB.

This is her when she went to Singapore with sis Ping last May of this year.

I remembered, when she was in her final year at Barobo Central Elementary School, her being a valedictorian was a controversy. It happened that her rival was the daughter of a "seasoned" teacher in that school and the mother is a high school teacher in the national high school and even until now. I was already a teacher at that time but I was a neophyte. We just let the truth prevailed. There was only one strong teacher who really fought for her, the history teacher, who believed that my sister was superior than the other girl. She conducted a series of tests in her subject and my sister consistently made it ahead of everybody. That was the proof she used to support her stand for my dearest sis.

Her high school life was even more challenging. She had a lot of extra curricular activities that sometimes involved all of us. She was the president of the student body and other minor student groups in her school. She ran for the office of Kagawad in the Sangguniang Kabataan in the poblacion and got more votes than the one who won the chairmanship. It was really a hard fight because we don't have money to spend for her campaign yet she made it.

She was also the team leader of the Parliamentary group that went all the way to the national level compitation and won the most awards. She finished high school with so many medals. She got accepted at Xavier University or Ateneo de Cagayan without a problem. She finished her four-year bachelor's degree and tried to take the Accountancy board but she failed. She then got an accountacy job in one of the accounting firms in Manila, despite her not passing the test. Then after few months, she decided to take the scholarship exam in MSU Marawi and passed luckily. She enrolled her LLB on a scholarship grant and made it with flying colors in 2006. She was the class valedictorian and a Cum Laude for the entire College of Law in the whole MSU system.

She just passed the Bar exam which was held September of last year. She is now working at the Department of Trasportation and Communications in Manila.

We are so proud of her!

Morning Walk at Poipu

We arrived here in Kauai last Friday (July 11) but I didn't have the time to update this site. But now I guess I need to put something which I think might be a good one for everybody to read and know where we are at right now.

We all decided yesterday morning to take a walk. We did it for a lot of reasons. One was to see the surroundings and appreciate the beauty of nature. The second was to feel the fresh ocean breeze. And thirdly, to get a good exercise which was the most important of the three. So here are our pictures: We took turns to get pictures. Here in this picture, one can tell who's the photographer. This shows hubby and the Wolfe family.
This is us and the cute grand kids, Brianna and Bryan.

We really enjoyed that walk and especially that we all went as a family. We learned that the place has still a lot to offer to every visitor who wants to visit this little Garden Island.

Inexpensive Dinner

I was not supposed to put this on my blog, but I am encouraged to do so because of the very positive remarks I got from my dearest hubby.

We seldom go out for dinner, usually I make light dinner especially if we both work late. I always have soup ready for both of us. Now, with the high price of everything, even going out to eat cost more money because of the gas.

Yesterday, I got the chance to make a nice dinner inasmuch as it was my day off. I baked tuna fish with baked sweet potato on the side with Stir-Fried Beans. It was easy and quick. Here's the picture of hubby's plate: I had to take a quick picture before he devoured everything. Heh he he! He said that he had no idea that he married a good cook. Is it not too flattering?
