The Two Smart Kiddos...

These pictures of our grand kids were taken when we were in Maui Ocean Center. I took these on our way out. Bryan was emotional here because he could not find his stuff toy which he left somewhere inside the place. But he was still smiling.

Last time we were in Kauai, he lost his pirate ship at the pool. We were looking for it in all the pools but the search was in vain. The same thing in Maui. Keith, his Dad, tried to search every possible corner that Bryan said he was there. But he did not find it.

We went back to our hotel with Bryan crying.

This Baby Has Turn Into a Girlie....

When I was still teaching at the University back in the Philippines, I used to stay in a boarding house with my cute niece, Luisa. She was still a little one. And today, she turned 13. Wow! It seems like only yesterday.

To you our dearest Luisa...

Your Uncle Gilbert and Auntie Cely are wishing you the best in life.
May you always continue to be good in your studies,
as you always do.
May God bless you!

Dinner Out

Yesterday we celebrated Elsie's birthday in advance. Her actual big day will be on Wednesday (August 6) but she decided to just do it yesterday because it falls on a weekday. Everybody goes to work, besides they will be out of town this coming weekend. Since I had my day off yesterday, hubby and I drove to Pleasanton to join them.

The celebration was not that big. We just gave her a flower arrangement. Then I told hubby if we could just stop at Barnes and Noble to buy the latest novel of John Crisham because when we were on our vacation, she finished reading two books. And then she told us that she read every single novel of this author, so we thought that it would be a nice gift for her birthday. But when we got to the store, the lady at the customer service told us that the new book would be released in January 2009. So hubby instantly decided that we should get her a gift card so she could just go to the store and buy the book that she likes to read. That's what we got for her. But while we were on our way to pay it, I saw a nice leather bookmark that if we buy it, part of the money will go to UNICEF. I grabbed one to add to the item that I already have in my hand. The size was just perfect for the card envelop size.

Hubby also wrote a check to buy her new suitcase. She wanted to buy that Hawaiian suitcase in Maui but she did not get it for quality reasons.

Then we headed towards their house. Elsie probably still misses the two places in her vacation because she picked Mahalo Grille for dinner. The place was okay. I did not take pictures because I did not want to disrupt the family moment. However, we were all impressed by the dessert. It was an ice cream cake. It was rich and it was so good!

This was the cake they bought at Whole Food. We had this as our second dessert when we got home.

To Elsie, HaPPy BIrtHDay!

A Perfect Blend of Friendship Award

Hi guys! We got this award from Blessie of Happy Life. We have know her since we were still in our native land Philippines. We came from two neighboring towns and we relocated in the US of A in the same year. She came month ahead in 2004. We still call each other and she was the one who motivated me to start blogging. Thanks a lot!

Now, we are tagging all our friends in our list and those whom we forgot to add in. Though we don't know each other personally but somehow, we believe that we all care for each other here in this cyberspace. We do mean it! This award is for everybody!
